Sunday June 6, 2009 Our Worship Services Welcome to all who have come today to worship the Lord! He is an awesome Father who calls us to eternal glory in Christ, and gives the Holy Spirit as the guarantee of this future glory! Before morning worship, there will be a brief presentation regarding education hour – each teacher will explain what was taught this past year, and Bibles will be presented to 3rd and 7th grade students. Prayer and PraisePray for Bob Moss. Praise God for His unchanging grace and love, that in Christ we have eternal hope, unshakable. Pray that the current treatment for Bob’s brain tumor will be effective, and Bob will be healed. Pray for spiritual grace and strength to rest in Christ. Pray for the congregational meeting on Tuesday. Praise the Lord that we can come together as those who are one in Christ. Pray that Christ will be honored at this meeting, and that it will be a joyful time of love, encouragement, unity, and furthering of Christ’s kingdom. Praise the Lord that Richard Giles arrived safely home from Afghanistan. Praise the Lord for the gift of marriage, and pray for Julie and Josh (Julie is daughter of Hans and Hennie Van Dam), who will be united in marriage this Saturday. AnnouncementsThis Tuesday is the annual congregational meeting. Please come and enjoy fellowship as we remember God’s grace this past year, and consider how to best glorify Him in the year to come. We will be voting to affirm new office bearers (elder – Brian Baker; Gerrit Kroes; deacon – Kevin DeJager; Frank Dykstra; Len Faber (1 year term). We will also be voting to affirm a call to Rev. McManigal, to serve in Grace Church. The call is contingent on Dan sustaining an exam by classis in October. We will also be voting to affirm budgets for IRC and Grace Church for fiscal year 2009-2010 (the fiscal year begins July 1). Budget information is on the table in the foyer. If you have any questions, please speak with an elder or deacon before the meeting, so we don’t have to spend too much time answering questions during the meeting – thanks! If you are unable to come, please fill out an absentee ballot (on the table in the foyer) and hand to any elder. Thanks! Do you seek to grow in your love for the unsaved and your ability to reach out to them? Come for fellowship and prayer – we will be together reading and discussing the book A Faith Worth Sharing – a lifetime of conversations about Christ. Place: Tuiningas. Time: Wednesday, 7:30 pm. This Friday evening and Saturday: Grace Church Plant in West Linn is sponsoring a conference in celebration of Calvin’s 500th birthday. It will include talks by Rev. James Dennison, as well as activities for children. Questions? Call 503-619-7387. Our congregation sponsors the White Horse Inn, a weekly radio program aimed at helping you understand the truths of the Christian faith. Listen every Sunday morning at 8:00, on AM 1430 KYKN. |
